Watercolor on paper
12" x 18"
2025

I made this painting in the cancer hospital -on the couch in my mother's hospital room next to her bed- when I was taking care of her during her last treatment for two months. I still remember the nurses saying how much they liked it.

As I was making this painting, I was thinking that it would be to commemorate the day she would beat cancer. She is the strongest and most resilient warrior I have ever known. She also had her family's love and support by her side; we were never giving up.

I love her deeply, and I am happy to keep sharing life with her.
