Live Performance
Corn Mask, Acrylic, Corn Husks Path on Paper. 2022
Part of Twin Cities Art Week, presented by Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
A performance part of Twin Cities Art Week and MCAD programming. This live performance was about the painful journey of crossing the border. I put red ink on my feet and hands to symbolize blood. I walked, danced, and stepped on corn husks and paper for an hour. The path of corn husks references the Americas, and how borders are an invisible line that were invented and weaponized. I am from this land, I am not an immigrant, I belong here.
